Last Sunday we went to our first PossAbilities children's Christmas party. It was great! We got to see other families, enjoyed delicious food, Amaya got a present and both girls got to take a picture with Santa. There was also face painting, crafts, a sleigh ride and a chance to talk with friends. We've been so fortunate to be a part of PossAbilities this past year and be apart of the many free events. PossAbilities and the Spina Bifida support group came out to enjoy the day.
We found a spot on the ground to eat and enjoy the day. The girls were given snowman balloons. Amaya still has hers floating in her room above her bed.

Here's a closer one.
PossAbilities members got to pick a toy. Amaya chose a Star Wars toy that came with two figures and a video.
Lidie working at the craft table. She spelled her name out and added dinosaurs to it.
Here's Amaya with Cotie. She's the program coordinator for PossAbilities and helps coordinates all the events that Amaya has gotten to be a part of these past few months. She's also the woman who bought Amaya's painting at the PossAbilities dinner a few weeks ago. I'm very grateful to her and Pedro. They create so many opportunities for PossAbilities members and their families. They along with the support staff work tirelessly to help out other members.
Lidie showing off her face painting. She decided she wanted flowers on her arm instead of something on her face.

Here's a close up of her working. It's hard to read it but her card says, "Merry Christmas. Amaya. Team Possibilities."
Amaya was heading to the bathroom when Santa arrived in a fire truck. Amaya stopped to look and wave at him. She was so excited to be so close to him. Then he came over and shook her hand. She was a bit awestruck.
Before we left we took a ride on the sleigh ride. Josh's mom came to meet us there and got to ride with the girls and me.
