Pictures from the last couple of days

Okay, so here are those photos I've been promising.
This was in pre-op. I love her smile. She's giving a peace sign.

After Dr.Nelson talked with us this is how they marked her leg (to make sure they operate on the correct one).

This was in recovery. After she started to settle down.

Resting in recovery.

Also in recovery. Waiting to get into a room.

This was after she got into her room and new bed. The transfer wasn't so bad, but then they made her roll to put a sheet under her.

Looking at this picture of her and Mason made her feel good. Notice the giant wraps around her IV's (she had two).

This was in her room, resting.

Our first physical therapy session. It was tough!

Look at that knee bend! It's amazing how much she did in such a short time!

After a tough session, she still managed to smile.

This was her second therapy session and her first time in a wheelchair. All this happened the next day after surgery. You can tell by her face that it wasn't easy. But she did it!

Lidie got to visit!

Kissing! Lidie gave Amaya an "eal kiss" (basically a lick across the face).

Here's a look at her fixator from the front.

Here's a top view of the fixator. The red tips are on the pins. She has six in the femur and three below the knee. It is heavier than I thought it would be. But they said it's strong enough that you can use it to grab and lift her leg with it.

This was her third physical therapy session.

You can tell by the face she was tired and getting cranky. She had a two hour therapy session! She learned how to sit up and lay down, scoot on the bed, get in and out of the bed. We wheeled her down the hall and she asked if next time she could push herself.
